#2 Metal Mayhem

As the metalhead I have to say that I didn't listen to music 'til I was 14( what a bad way to start this post). Let's take a look inside my past.

As a child, I grew up with my mother, uncle (her brother) and their grandparents. My mother liked to listen that... umm... "soft rock", like The  Beatles, The Cure, Creedence, Soda Stereo, Andres Calamaro and many others. At the same time, adding the above, my uncle also listened to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and all those classic rock bands, but his all favorite music have always been Blues. He love to listen B.B. King, T-Bone Walker and also chilean blues bands like Chorizo Salvaje.

Well, that's ok, the problem is that (as a child) I didn't like any kind of music. Really. When I was 12 people asked to me what kind of music I listened, but I had no a clear response, I just said: "Well, anything, I don't give a single f**k".

So, when I turned a 14-years old man, maybe influenced by my friends (not all of 'em, a great part were "flaites") I realized that my ears were disposed to listen to metal. Heavy metal. Good sh*t. Devil's music. 666 Satan lmL.

As a "noob" in rock/metal scene, I started to listen it begining with Iron Maiden, then Metallica and then, the whole world was mine. From metal to rock, from rock to metal, I checked any band I could, and turning back to those that my parents listen. I was really trapped, cause I was countinously searching and finding my style. I liked metal, but not any kind of metal. I liked rock, but not any kind of rock. Self-knowledge was strong in this era.

Metallica members, love 'em! <3

I remember when I received my first band's t-shirt, it was an Iron Maiden one, with the cover of Flight 666. I WAS SO EXCITED GODDAMN, I REALLY LOVED IT SINCE I SAW IT.
Unfortunately, I had to dispose it this year, it was so used and mangy.

Following the previous idea, when I was 15-16 I explored other musical genres. Starting with metalcore, no, didn't work. Japanese rock, yes, lot of bands I like, those visual ones, where the members looks very androgen. Anyway, now I know that my favorite genre it's thrash metal, and I consider myself as a thrasher, and I LOVE TO HEADBANG WITH MY CONTINOUSLY GROWING HAIR!!!

Grandmothers says that metal is the devil's music. Nothing to do about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, I started to listen those pop bands like Paramore, and more recent, Florence + The Machine and Chvrches. So... Am not "that" closed-mind metalhead, or maybe i'm not one of em'
Chvrches, one of the pop bands that I liste to

  5. I do not believe we ought to be part of a cult, we are post-modern era people, so, it does not really matter if you like metal and listen to britney!!! remember Metallica has an album with her. LOL

Some minor difficulties blurred understanding, ask about them.
